my internet disconnects after checking email

Ever experienced this stange thing that happens when you check your email and your modem goes off afterwards? And then you have to dialup again to get online? Odds are its a problem with your email program.

But thats okay because its really easy to fix. Just follow along and we can guide you through and stop you being disconnected everytime you check your email.

This really only happens on Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express so we will look at each of these programs.

Microsoft Outlook

• Once the program is open visit the Tools menu
• Select Options
• Choose the Mail Setup tab
• Under the section "Dialup" make sure there is nothing ticked
• Click OK

Microsoft Outlook Express

• Once the program is open visit the Tools menu
• Select Options
• Choose the Connection tab
• Untick Hang up after Sending and Receiving
  
• Click OK
